Deck Type 1 Concrete Decks

Deck Description: Min. 2500 psi, dual slab construction

Substrate All surfaces must be dry, smooth, free of depressions, voids, and protrusions, and clean and free
Preparation: of any non-compatible curing compounds, foam release agents and other surface contaminants.
Membrane curing compounds must be mechanically removed. Substrate shall be smooth, free of
voids, spalled areas, laitance, honeycombs, and sharp protrusions. Remove dust, dirt, and other
contaminants just before or during application. Surfaces must be dry at the time of application
and prepared in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Primer: (Optional) Apply Polyprime 2180SC or Enviro-Grip EP#2SC with an airless sprayer, brush, or
phenolic resin core roller at approximately 300 sqft/gal. and work well into the substrate to
ensure adequate penetration and sealing and puddles are avoided. Allow primer to dry tack free.
Coating must be applied within 8-12 hours of primer application.

Coating: Select the grade of Aquaseal 5000WC/GC, T-Shield WC/GC, PC-IM 129 or B-Tuff 921 that best
meets the individual job requirements applied at a minimum rate of 25 ft² gal.

Integrity Test: Required, and shall be performed in accordance with ASTM D 5957 by an approved lab. Water
may be maintained for a period longer than 24 hours if required.

Inspection: Contractor and a representative of the membrane manufacturer shall inspect the waterproofing
assembly and notify the contractor of any defects. All defects shall be corrected.

Surfacing: Structural Concrete Slab, minimum 2500 psi, in compliance with applicable Building Code.
